Suzanna de Baca is the newest member named to the Hennepin Healthcare System (HHS), Inc. board of directors, which operates Hennepin County Medical Center and its clinic services.  De Baca is Vice President of Wealth Strategies at Ameriprise Financial, Inc. 

Ms. de Baca has 20 years of experience in the financial planning and wealth management industry. Prior to joining Ameriprise Financial, she held senior level positions in several asset management firms.

A frequent guest at investment and finance industry conferences, Ms. de Baca appears frequently on national television and radio, providing commentary on consumer finance, financial management and retirement. She is quoted regularly in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, SmartMoney, and Fox News.

In addition, Ms. de Baca is a frequent contributor to numerous national and international industry and consumer business publications. She is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and Time.com.  She is a business book reviewer for Publishers Weekly and was a guest faculty member in the Finance department at Iowa State University.

Ms. de Baca earned an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a BA from Iowa State University.  She is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, serving on the Corporate Advisory Board for the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER), and the Board of Trustees and Retirement Income Board for the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI).  She is active in the community, also serving on the Boards of Directors of Planned Parenthood of MN, SD and ND, and the Women’s Foundation of MN.

Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc. operates Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis and primary care clinics in Minneapolis on East Lake Street and in the Whittier Neighborhood and in the suburban communities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Richfield, and St. Anthony, as well as a retail clinic in the Walmart store in Bloomington.
