Scott R. Wordelman was recently named Vice President of Ambulatory Administration at HCMC. Before joining HCMC’s leadership team, Wordelman led the creation of one of the nation’s first rural integrated community health systems, Chisago Health Services, and the integration of three community hospitals to create Fairview Lakes Regional Health Care, a regionally integrated health system and a division of Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN.  Most recently, as president and CEO, he led the integration of Interstate Medical Center, River Region Health Services and Fairview to create Fairview Red Wing Health Services — an integrated, community-based health system in Red Wing, Minnesota affiliated with Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services, where he was a Senior Officer.

“I am delighted and honored to join the team of caregivers who each day meet a mission unlike any other in health system Minnesota,” explains Wordelman. “HCMC  is moving to serve our community through a new integrated delivery system, and ambulatory care is at the center of the future.  As I join the HCMC leadership team, I look forward to helping build a stronger system which will exceed our patient’s expectations.”

Wordelman received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Hospital Administration from Concordia College in 1980 and continued studies at the University of Minnesota’s Independent Study Program in Health Care Administration.  He held administrative positions in Baudette, Minnesota and Chisago City, Minnesota prior to moving to Red Wing in 1998.  He is a former Chair of the Minnesota Hospital Association and member of the American Hospital Association Regional 6 Policy Board among other AHA committees. Wordelman is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives and has been honored as one of Modern Healthcare’s Up and Comers, and as one of four Emerging Leaders in Health Care by the Healthcare Forum. He was the first recipient of the Heart of Minnesota Award from the Minnesota Health Care Auxiliary Association.
