HCMC physician appointed to Midwest Lipid Association Board

Dr. Laxmana Godishala

Laxmana Godishala, MD, FACP, FASH, FNLA, Medical Director of the Parkside International Travel Clinic, Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), has been appointed to the board of the Midwest Lipid Association. He is the only Minnesota physician serving on the board.

A chapter of the National Lipid Association, the Midwest Lipid Association works to enhance the practice of lipid management in clinical medicine. Dr. Godishala is also one of only two Minnesota Fellows of the National Lipid Association and he was the first board-certified lipidologist in Minnesota.

Dr. Godishala sees patients in the Parkside International Travel Clinic at HCMC.  He is an Assistant Professor (clinical scholar track) at the University of Minnesota Medical School and an attending physician and faculty member of the Department of Medicine at HCMC. Dr. Godishala has been prominently involved in preventive cardiac care, particularly with lipids and hypertension. He runs the Lipid Clinic at HCMC and is a frequent lecturer on lipids and hypertension in the Twin Cities and regionally. He is board certified in multiple areas and is a Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM); Diplomate, American Board of Clinical Lipidology (ABCL), Clinical Hypertension Specialist and is certified in Travel Health by the International Society of Travel Medicine.
